Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City, Doha’s premier yachting destination, recently welcomed students from ISL Qatar (International School of London Qatar) to support the schools’ community service program initiative, which emphasizes on the environment preservation.

The students, accompanied by their teachers, were welcomed by the Mourjan Marinas- Lusail City team, which provided an overview of the marina’s rules, regulations and operations, and emphasized on marinas’ environmental consciousness with reference to the floating mangroves project underway at the marina.

Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City, Doha’s premier yachting destination, showcased the success of its floating mangroves project, when hosting Qatar TV as part of special documentary shooting. The documentary is expected to air in late February and will be shared across social media.

Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City launched the project in 2012 together with UNESCO and Lusail City to monitor the use of mangroves for capturing carbon emissions, or sequestration, helping to reduce atmospheric carbon levels. Since its launch, the project continues to capture international attention from the science and environmental communities as mangroves also provide a safe, sheltered home for hundreds of birds and marine species, which aids biodiversity and helps to increase fish stock​s.

Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City, Doha's premier yachting destination, is fast becoming the chosen home-port for marine operators to operate their activities, with three commercial operators now on board; Almargan Tours, Blue Marine and Doha Yachting.

Almargan Tours is a yacht chartering company in Qatar which provides luxury boats and yachts for cruising. The company offers a selection of yachts in Doha with three boats ranging in size from 33 ft to 55 ft for hourly and daily charter, further enhancing the marina's offering for visitors.

Mourjan Marinas - Lusail City hosted Blue Marine's first Open Day 

Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City, Doha's premier yachting destination, hosted the first Blue Marine Open Day event, which saw more than 800 attendees try a variety of water-based activities.

The Open Day event featured a full day of complimentary water sports and leisure activities at Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City.

Visitors tried a variety of Blue Marine water sports including fly boarding, inflatables, and dhow trips. Families and their children also enjoyed land-based activities such as table tennis, table hockey and face-painting, along with complimentary refreshments. The Open Day event presented an opportunity for all ages to experience new activities and find out more about Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City and Blue Marine's offerings.

Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City, Doha’s premier yachting destination, welcomes Blue Marine, one of Qatar’s leading marine companies offering water sports activities, as the marina’s latest commercial operator. Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City is fast becoming the chosen home-port for marine operators to operate their activities.

Blue Marine will offer a full line-up of water sports activities from Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City in a bid to make water-based sports more accessible to the local community.

Visitors to the marina will be able to try a variety of water sports including wake boarding, fly boarding, jet skiing, jet packing, hover boarding, kite surfing, water skiing, kayaking, yacht charter, dhow trips and fishing trips.

Doha’s premier marina facility and yachting destination, has launched three unique and picturesque event spaces to meet growing demand. Offering three on-water lounge areas totaling more than 17,205 square feet, the three venues can host varying numbers of guests, from a gathering of 25 to a larger event of 130.

The marina’s lounge areas feature contemporary shade structures and are designed and built as the perfect setting to host a range of events including seminars, celebration parties, fashion shows, photo shoots and receptions.

Doha’s premier marina Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City has announced it will expand in response to increasingly high demand for more berths in Qatar. Construction is now underway on 49 new modern floating berths, which will bring the marina’s total offering to 142 berths.

The expansion will create a larger display area for the upcoming Qatar International Boat Show 2014 (QIBS), which takes place for the second time at Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City from 11 – 15 November 2014.

Mangroveaws 'Floating Mangroves' project continues to flourish at Lusail Marina

Mourjan Marinas’ ‘Floating Mangroves’ project, launched together with UNESCO and Lusail City, has achieved another milestone, with all plants from phase one and two now receiving sea water based irrigation.

The experiment is the first of its kind in the region – the findings of which will help shape scientists’ understanding on mitigating climate change through carbon sequestration.
